I've read the forums about loading problems and searched my data for commas, etc. Now I am getting this error: "��������������������������������������������1����arial1����arial"$"#" is not a valid field name

My fields are:

username password firstname lastname email
Abbottm28 moodle10 Matthew 22Abbott student@nrsd.org

The number in fron of the last name is their HS grad year. I took that off thinking it would help, but no luck. Please help....I have 4200 students to load asap.

could it be cause by the Microsoft Excel (if you are using it to create the csv file), adding in its on codes?

try using Openoffice to create the csv.

Thanks!  I copied it back into the CSV file, cleaned it of any special characters, then uploaded from the clean CSV and it worked.
