Moderated Forums - Anything new?

Hello,

Are moderated forums possible yet? Any hope that they will ever be?

I know based on reading the forum history that this has the potential to start a debate on whether or not this should be needed, and that is fine, although FYI, I am not the group who needs convincing here, and this is a decision that is beyond my control.

We have a set of Moodle courses in our system that requires forums to be moderated. I searched through the forums and found a lot of people asking if this is possible, but no solutions.

Our reason for needing to do this is that it is an administrative requirement (IE: we don't have a choice in the matter in certain courses in our system with certain makeups). It is to the point where if we don't figure this out, we need to use an external forum technology or cannot use forums at all.

I agree that in a perfect world this wouldn't be required, but I wish Moodle would support this feature (even as an add-on or hack of some sort) because there are real-world implementations where this is needed (and not just in ours as I have noticed searching through the forums).

Thanks in advance for any help/advice. 微笑

By moderated forums do you mean only allowing posts to be visible once they have been viewed by a teacher/administrator? There is a forum posting approval hack made by Anthony Borrow you can read about here http://docs.moodle.org/en/Forum_post_approval
