How to dispaly random variables to students?

Hi:

In calculated type quiz, Moodle generates random variables that can be part of the question (and of course answers). However, if the sudents are to answer questions using these random variables, they should be able to do see the random variables generated by Moodle.

Does somebody know how to display the variables to students when they attempt calculated type of questions?

YOU must include them in the question text by writing {a} etc.

Have you read the docs for this?

there it says:

Enter the question text. This should be the question you want the student to answer, and it must include all the information they need to calculate an answer. Therefore it must contain at least one wildcard, inside curly braces. For example, if you wanted the student to sum numbers A and B, the question text might read: "What is {A} + {B}?"
