Roles and permissions

Hello,

I am the system administrator for our Moodle, recently I assigned someone as moodle administrator to facilitate course development and assign roles in the system. This person made some changes to the default student role and when he clicked save all of the admin permissions were changed.

So far I have run the php script to create a new admin role and assign my admin user to that role, this has not accomplished anything although the script worked. I have looked at the capabilities table in the DB and everything seems fine. All of the stuff in the DB seems fine actually, although I am probably overlooking something.

We just installed our moodle and were going to begin regular backups next week, so I have no DB to restore from.

Can anyone give me some guidance as far as how I could reset the admin permission levels or something along those lines?
