One of our teachers had a student submit an assignment, and it appeared as an attachment under a different student's username. What do you think caused that?

What type of assignment was it? (When you say "appeared as an attachment und er a different student's username" where is this seen?)Aside of the obvious - ie, did the student log in as the other student? - has the username of the student been entered mistakenly or have two students mistakenly been using the same log in details?

Hi, Heather,
this has just happened to us, too. Did you ever get to the bottom of it? Tutor is considering disciplinary action as it looks like a case of plagiarism, but we need to investigate the possibility of some random transfer of file....
We've asked all the usual questions..did you use another student's login..did you use a PC just vacated by your classmate, were you swoppiing files for peer review and get mixed up...but both users involved deny any contact.
