Enrolment

Hi,
I am looking for some help in a time saving plugin. When I add a teacher to a course, I usually have to send them a confirmation email and sometimes their enrolment key. Just wondering if anyone has developed a hack for roles so that when a user is assigned the role of teachers or non-editing teacher for a course, an email can be sent to them?

Any help or pointers appreciated
