Hi.

Is it possibel to setup a calender where teachers can set time for contacts with students and then students can assign f.ex. 15 min withinh this timeframe for a meeting. The next student will then see in the calender this booking and ask for next free 15 min.

Hi Sven,

No, the calendar doesn't have such functionality. More probably what you describe would be better implemented as a stand-alone module that uses the calendar, not as part of the calendar itself. It's too specific.

This is roughly what the scheduler module does. You can find it on the modules download page. The help file says:

Scheduler module for Moodle

This module helps you to schedule one-on-one appointments with all your students. You specify the periods during which you are available to see the students and the length of each appointment. The students then book themselves into one of the available timeslots. The module also lets you record the attendance.

The code should work with Moodle 1.4 and greater.

Simply unzip all files into the appropriate locations as indicated by their path and then visit the Moodle admin page. The database table should be created automatically.

Hi Gustav,

How are you today?  I just wanted to mention something about your scheduler, and thought I would do it here since it doesn't have its own forum.  Your scheduler is very cool, but one thing is that you have the date first, and then the month and then the year.  So that a schedule would look something like this:  03/10/04 for a date that was entered as October 3, 2004.  In the U.S. we put the month first, so this numerical date actually reads  March 10, 2004.

What would be an "easy" way to switch around the month and day?

Also, would it be possible to change it from 24 hr time, to 12 hr time with a.m. and p.m.?  Again, in the US, we aren't used to talking in "military" time.

Thanks,

Chardelle

Chardelle, thanks for bringing that to my attention. The scheduler module was written quickly last year to satisfy our needs, so I was a bit careless with such localization issues. I have now fixed it so that the date display will adjust itself to the user's language and the time display will follow the user's calendar preference setting.
