Just starting to use attendance in my class, I was thinking that this could be extended to provide some very interesting reports for whole school attendance / truancy.
Lets say, there is an attendance for each roll call class in the morning (this is where we check which students are absent for the day and generate a report so teachers can check their class absences against the roll call list for truants) where the roll is done using attendance.
Each teacher then does the attendance in their course through the day. At the end of the day the attendance report for each class is compared against the roll call attendance and any inconsistencies are reported/highlighted. Students who are late for a set % of lessons are highlighted for checking and those marked absent in a class when the were present in roll call are marked as truant for follow up by the truant officer.
This would be a great extension for this module for secondary schools don't you think?
