How to stop email from forums to Admin Account

When students post to forums a copy of their post is going to our admin email address. We also have a few users who have near admin privileges to assist in administering the site. They also get these emails. I read this post:
http://moodle.org/mod/forum/discuss.php?d=126836
Is suggested to: I think you are looking for the permission Throttling Applies [mod/forum:throttlingapplies]. Set this to Allow for the Administrator Role at site level.

This did not work. Any idea? We still need to see all forum posts for all courses. We are at 1.9.4.

Thanks.

if you don't want to receive forum mail outs (or IMs), go to the admin user profile...

Email activated: This email address is disabled

Hi Keith
We have a similar role (Helpdesk) that doesn't require forum posts however we cannot (as Chad suggests) disable their email as users do need to find it.

We have the Throttling Applies configured to "Not Set". We also have the Initial Subscriptions configured to "Prevent". This seems to prevent forum posts going to these users however they still receive email notification of assignment submissions because this is configured via the ability to Grade assignments permission. They need this so they can help troubleshoot any submission/grading queries.

You should also check to see is these accounts have posted to any forums and if so weather they have subscribed inadvertently. I would suggest they change their profile 'Forum auto-subscribe' setting to 'No...'.

I hope this helps
Cheers
Teresa

Thank you both for the suggestions. I never noticed the disabling of the email address. That should work for us.
