Uploading Audio Files - Need Help

Should I be able to upload audio files? I have no problems uploading text and image files, but attempts to upload audio in any format leads to a page not found error outside of the Moodle environment. Anyone have any advice? Thank you.

P.S. If the Main Moodler is reading this, please know you have my thanks for making your excellent system open to us.

Audio files should work fine - try out this demo of a wav file

Strange - I've linked audio files successfully into HTML resource pages on Moodle (eg as background music) but your demo does not work on my PC.  I'm getting an error message from the (Real Player) audio player saying that the file can't be found.

I also have problems uploading some files - depending on the size. Check if it's the same in your case, it might not be the fact that they are sound files, but the filesize.

I have set the max upload filesize to 2MB, but I can't actually upload anything above 1MB. I haven't been able to track the reason of this behaviour, but as a workaround I use direct ftp access to moodle data directory.

It does sound like this is the problem.

Specifically, try putting this line in a .htaccess file in your main moodle directory:

LimitRequestBody 0

The "Woohoo" demo link worked fine. Our moodle allows 15 MB uploads and I am only trying to upload a 3 MB file, so I don't think it is a file size problem. My moodle administrator can't solve it, but maybe the university network administrator can help. Thank you for your replies.
