I would like to change the default profile picture to something I have on my hard drive. The file is not a png so I cannot just rename it and upload it to the location of the current smilie. what code do I need to change in order have the default profile image be whatever I want it to be?
Thanks for the tips.
If you are on a Mac, perhaps something like GraphicConverter can help. Here is the URL for the developer's site:

A very good piece of software.

Assuming your picture is a standard format like jpg or gif, just call it f1.png. Most modern browsers don't care what suffix the file has, they'll sort things out on their own.
Not a big deal, but changing to .png had no
effect. Still default
.

Clear the browser cache on the client computer.
Tryed that. As last resort I deleted all tables using
phpmyadmin then uploaded lastest 1.4.1
All appears fine now.
Thanks again, Dave

Where is the location of the default image variable? Do admins need to go into code to modify this? Can this be done via the interface?
thanks

The default images are pix/u/f1.png and pix/u/f2.png
Well I made a simple picture in photoshop and named it to f1.png - guess I solved my own problem. Anyhow after 2 weeks a number of students still hadn't changed their profile picture, I"m hoping this will encourage them.
I like that idea! Well, if it doesn't work, perhaps you should put a picture of someone really ugly instead, or a picture of an animal that has really negative connotations in Korean society.
