This glitch is puzzling me - we have Moodle 1.9.3+ installed from the start of this year.
Settings:
The forums on this course are all set to 'visible groups' on a forum-by-forum setting
The course setting is 'visible groups' with the Force setting 'no'
The students are in three groups - L, M and N
In the student profiles and the groups tab overview the students appear in their correct group
Problem:
Some of the forums work as expected - students post in their own group, the postings are notated with their group letter on the forum display, they can see other group postings but not post to them. When lecturers go into these forums they can select the group they want from the pulldown and see only that group's postings.
However the latest forum seems to have 'forgotten' all the groupings. It is still set to visible groups, and the group access pulldown in the top left corner is still there. But when the different groups are selected it makes no difference - all postings are viewed by the lecturer no matter which group is selected and none of the postings have any notation alongside them indicating which group they belong to.
None of the site admin or course settings have been changed since the last forum which worked Ok. Student and lecturer permissions have not been altered in any way.
Any ideas on what is going on would be much appreciated.
