General help

I've tried to add a discussion to the forum for a my first class using moodle. If I simply put the word 'test' in the body of the forum post, then moodle accepts this, but if I actually include the post that I want to use, I get this error.

Could not update your post due to an unknown error

I'm having similar problems adding a 'plain text' resource...

Being a complete newbie, I really don't know where to start... it might help to know I'm using www.pair.com for the hosting and that the setup seemed to go along okay..best..janet
