i just install moodle 1.9.4 and i want to give some description and picture in the center of the front page, before student log in. How can i do that ?
I try front page settings and chose new items, but when check, there is link "reply" in the site 's front page that i can't hide it.

From "front page settings" select "Include a topic section".
Return to the home page and in the just included topic section add, for instance, a label with text and/or picture and/or tables!

Because when i click update, I don't see any option to change it.

You can change the roles of the item and hide it for logged in users.
