Yes. Since you are running CRON, the only other reason I could think of why it wouldn't work is if one or more SMTP parameters (like mail server address) were not set up. But since you say it used to work, that can't be it either, unless one or more of the parameters has changed since then.
If I find out why either of these problems might occur, I'll pass it on.
