FishBowl Theme

UVCMS is proud to introduce Fishbowl, a new Moodle theme available for free from UVCMS Moodle Solutions. The concept behind Fishbowl is clarity. With its transparent windows, a refreshing color palette, and new icons that add a visual sparkle, UVCMS's latest theme aims to give the user a deeper appreciation of Moodle. Translucent blocks seem to float on the surface, with shades of color sweeping below, giving the sensation of depth, and creating new layers in space. It is a look that is stylish in its simplicity.

You can get the theme from here.

Great look, the only small downside is that you've hidden the left column so if I have blocks on the left and apply this theme how can I manage them? I dont seem to be able to delete them so that I can add them to the right hand side?

Also: Demo

Icon pack is superb!

I agree - those icons are really unique.

Missing left blocks look like an accident - most sites have administration menu there... but you can change theme and get control back from

http://yoursite/theme/index.php

(or if things get really badly broken from database and table mdl_config)

One tiny thing - <img src="/moodle/theme/fishbowl/logo.png" border="0" class="logo"> in header.html is not good if moodle is not in folder moodle. Something like <img src="<?php echo $CFG->themewww ?>/fishbowl/logo.png" border="0" class="logo"> might show logo on all sites.

Really nice work and thank you for sharing, Darko!

Can you tell us where the icons came from? Are they GPL? Did you create them? Or, are they licensed under some other creator?

Lastly, can others use them? If so, under what context?

One more question would be if you are interested in hosting the files via CONTRIB? Peace - Anthony

You mean you would like us to submit both themes to CONTRIB?

That is something I would need to discuss with our CEO. I will get back here with more info regarding that.

I am glad you all liked the theme. The icon packs and the themes are work of our designers. Both themes and their icons are released under GPL so yes you can use them as you see fit provided that you follow the rules of GPL license.

I really like this theme - thanks for sharing it!

I've found a couple of issues, listed below.
  1. I changed the sideblocks to make it so that the transparent section between header and content is only visible with editing on (it was a bit confusing which block each header was attached to) with this CSS in social_network.css:

    comment line 269
    Add this bleow that declaration:

    .editing .sideblock .header {
    height: 41px;
    }

  2. Messaging window is very wide
  3. Calendar is slightly misaligned to the right of its block. Tested on FF3.
  4. Quiz tabs do not show which tab is selected
  5. Quiz results screen shows two sub-tabs selected (or is it not selected?) - 'overview' and 'item analysis'

Thanks!
