I'm using vers. 1.9
The native smiley faces show up, but user uploaded pics do not. There is a placeholder for the pics and caption, so they are there.
When I access the site www.mysite.com/moodle/userpix
I see the placeholders and captions.
This is a minor issue, but I would appreciate help.

Thanks Helen but that's no help. I have the ability to upload pics, and there are placeholders and captions, but something's broken. All my gd settings are up to date and enabled.
