I am looking for the syntax to display derivative using prime notation.

Is this possible? can someone show me an example?

much thanks in advance.

As in $$y^{\prime\prime}$$ ( written y^{\prime\prime} without the doubledollars)?

or, for the second derivative of y with respect to x:

$$(y^\prime)^\prime=y^{\prime\prime}(x)$$...

Sorry, I can do this in Tex and asciimathml, but not algebra filter.....
