If site cannot be rely upon, maybe should remove from list.
People can switch to new repository, but result of doing such can sometimes be unreliable (gives bogus conflicts).
You are complaining that a site in Europe has been down for 36 hours at 2:30am in the morining on Sunday, European time, which is about 33 hours after people will have stopped work on Friday evening. If no one noticed the system was down in the first 3 hours, then you are probably out of luck until Monday at the earliest.
Plus a number of institutions volunteer servers and staff time to host CVS mirrors, but the are probably not going to pay their staff to come on out of hours to maintain them. If that level of service was part of the commitment for hosting a mirror, then you would probably not have any CVS mirrors at all!

I sure don't agree with the attitude that we should not vent our frustration when things are not working right. In one way it recognizes the value of the service being offered. The only thing that we should expect is that a sufficient number of people in the community find their own way of giving back.
Having said that, I find the eu repository to be quite reliable and appreciate Open University's willingness to make it available and reliable to us all.

There are more and less constructive ways to vent frustration. The opening post in this thread seemed almost entirely unconstructive.
I assume he was just frustrated because he couldn't get work done. To be fair, I have posted a few rants in forums when everything has gone wrong and regretted them in the cold light of the next day
Hi Konstantin!
That server would be looked after Iñaki, he might be enjoying his weekend
If this is holding you back, I wanted to reassure you that doing a cvs repo switch will _not_ cause bogus conflicts. I've done quite a bit of work with cvs internals, and you can re-point your checkout to the main cvs.moodle.org safely.
Most of the CVS mirrors are maintained on a volunteer, best effort basis. Turnaround time is still pretty good most of the time, but these things can't be guaranteed...

Actually, you can't point at cvs.moodle.org unless you are a developer with write access. You need to use one of the other mirrors.

In fact, I look after es.cvs.moodle.org . Not that we haven't had issues in the past, but this time it was up and running.
Anyway, I will gladly return the money plus a 90% discount for the next month fee to anyone having problems with our mirror
Saludos. Iñaki.
