Found a workaround that seems to work in Moodle 1.6.3
In Examview export as Blackboard V6
unzip the file
in Moodle - Quiz - Import questions - tell it of type Blackboard 5
point to the extracted files - import the file ending in .dat
May have to clean up a few questions and sometimes it is hard to tell it to select all the questions to add to the test. Telling it to show all questions helps.
Not neat or smooth but the the files do import.
Sure enjoyed the WebCt version 3 imports when I was on Moodle 1.54
Hoping that level returns in future moodles.
Have not been able to get Examview XML from Examview 4.05 or 5.1 to import into Moddle 1.54 - 1.6 or 1.63
