Hi Ludo,
I have try your last version of dfwiki. You have done a very good job and the Tex filter is  very nice addition.
One little problem subsists: the version number in the file  version.php
is not correct: it is 2005102501 instead of 2005112101
and you have to modify it in order to upgrade

Regards,

Hello,

Does any one else have this problem with DFWIKI, IE for Windows and the HTML editor? There is no space to type! mixed

No HTML editor in WIN IE version 6

I have been using DFwiki for a few weeks (version 2005111501) on my Mac with no big problems. So last week I set up a dfwiki for my colleagues, and have just discovered from one of them that the HTML editor does not display properly. On her machine (windows 2000, IE6) a simple editor box appears, much as if the HTML editor had been turned off, which it hasn't. Futhermore, the blocks take up more than half the screen!

When I accessed the dfwiki via a similar windows system and the same version of IE, I can can see the HTML editor buttons (see above), but there's no where to type. However, the problem of the blocks taking up hald the screen is not replicated. The DFwiki editor appears correctly on both my colleague's and my Windows machine,

My guess is that;
  1. dfwiki has not been properly configured to work with Win IE, or
  2. there are some settings in IE that need to be changed
The first seems unlikely since the behavior of the HTML editor varies according to computers with the same Win OS and IE. But the second possible problem is also unlikely because the HTML editor appears correctly in other modules.

Perhaps the latest verion of dfwiki has fixed this problem?

Any ideas will be greatly appreciated.

moodle version = 1.5.2 +

Ohh ...
HTMLeditor sometimes beats me... its javascript based and this frelling language
behaves diferently on every very browser (thanks to the historical tech war betwen microsoft and netscape... javascript / jscript).
We'll take a look on it, but I'm afraid that at last I'll have to ask for help in the html editor forum.
Thank you Peter

Hello Juan and the other DFwiki developers,

I think I have found the cause of the problem with the HTML editor and DFwiki that I described above, which is that the HTML editor is unusable in DFwiki when using Windows XP pro and IE6.

It seems that when certain blocks are activated, the HTML editor becomes unusable; i.e. it appears as in the screen shot below:

missing HTML editor

It seems that this problem only occurs when the following three DFwiki blocks are visible:

    Administration tools
    Contribution
    Page Synonymous

If these block are closed, the HTML editor becomes usable again.

This problem occurs with Windows XP pro and IE 6, but does not occur with Firefox 1.5 for the Mac.

Has any one else experienced this problem?

Yes, I have seen a similar odd behaviour reported by staff when creating new Calendar entries. They reported that the HTML editor would slip into such a small space as you have illustrated that it was unusable .. Some staff later discovered a temporary solution clicking on the rightmost [arrow] icon would pop it out into the usable full screen edit mode. I am likewise curious why this happens, if it is an artifact of the HTML editor code or something passed to it by Moodle.

How can I get the latest version of DFWiki? I've downloaded dfwiki_1.0_rev2005112403.zip from the dfwiki site, but get the message that the zip is invalid or corrupt.

Thanks,

Re: INVALID ZIP in download link

it is not actually a zip-archive, it is a RAR3-archive with a .zip extension. Just rename the file to .rar and unrar it. smile

Re: Hot News ON DFWIKI

by Marc BUFFAT -
Hello Ludo
I found an important bug in the new release dfwiki_1.0_rev2005112201, that I had not seen before.
With this release, all the insert picture in the WIKI with attach:imagefile
are no more display. In the browser, when I look at a dfwiki page, the html source code does not contain the html code for the image <img src= ...>
I had to reverse back to the dfwiki_1.0_rev2005111501 version to have my DFWIKI display insert images.
It is a pitty because I really want to use DFWIKI with  the TeX filter !
Maybe it is an interaction with the new Tex filter ?

Marc

this new dfwiki integrates a new parser / code generator this must be the bug source and will be easy to fix.
We'll release a new version this morning solving this.
Thank you

Re: Hot News ON DFWIKI

by Alexandre Belousov -
(dfwiki_1.0_rev2005112401): relative links are parsed incorrectly.
e.g. I've inserted links with the code
[../../file.php?file=../../file1.pdf Get File1]
which worked fine in rev20051102 and resulted in smth like

And for the current version I get:
../../file.php?file=../../file1.pdf Get File1?

So currently I need to insert relative links using <nowiki><a href=... ></a></nowiki>.
Could this behaviour be changed to the previous one?

Thanks!

Re: Hot News ON DFWIKI

by David Castro -
Hi Alexandre,

In response to your post, we decided for this version that relative URL haven't got any sense. For this reason is impossible to solve,
[../../file.php?file=../../file1.pdf Get File1]
 as a external link. So if you want link with this file you must put:
http://www.yourdomain.any/file1.php?file=../../file.pdf
This decision is a user's demain to preserve the ewiki link sintax.

We hope don't cause problems with this change.

The leaders developers of DFwiki.

Re: Hot News ON DFWIKI

Confirm this bug for dfwiki markup style
e.g. The follwing text is misparsed by dfwiki_2005112401 at moodle 1.5.3+:
===header1===
===header2===
==header2.1==
=h2.1.1=
==header2.2==
===header3===

header 2.2 is shown as 2.1, so the problem is somewhere in <h2> styles following the <h3>.

How to upgrade from DFwiki 1.0 rev2005092001 to  dfwiki_1.0_rev2005121201.zip?

Extracting and replacing this  files en the moodle folder would afect to the contens in the DFwiki that contain information?
