Can Not Delete Courses

I have not had trouble deleting courses before. I am doing it as I always have: I click on the "x" to delete. I get the "Are you absolutely sure..." with the Continue or Cancel option and I then click on Continue. The screen goes to "Deleting (Course Name)" but then just stays there. I have let it sit for 5 minutes and still no action. The only way I can get out is via the back button on browser. When I go back the course is still there. It is not just one course. I created a few more test courses and have the same problem? Using Moodle 2.1.2+ (Build: 20111019) - Windows 7

Coincidence? The first time I noticed this was just after installing the Grid View plugin. This is also the only Moodle site where I have the Grid View plugin installed. I just went to another site, created a course and then deleted it and everything worked fine?? I am using the same theme in both sites (Brick). I can't think of any other differences between the two sites. Both the same 2.12 Build.

Michael- have you done a search on the forums for problems deleting courses with the Grid view plugin? It appears a few people are having similar problems to you. One suggestion is to change the course format, say back to topics, and then try but others have ended up deleting it from the database. I don't have this plugin so can't comment any further.

Thank you Mary. The Grid View plugin was the problem. I had been testing that plugin on this site only. What was interesting is that I could not even delete other courses even those where I had not tried to use the Grid View format.

There are probably other ways to do this but for anyone else that uses the cPanel at their site host this is what I did to fix it:

From cPanel: File Manager > Public_HTML>Moodle (or other name for site)>course>format>  Once I was in this folder I deleted "grid".

When I went back to my Moodle site I had no problem deleting the courses.

P.S. - I am not sure that I know enough about it to notify the managers of the Grid view plugin. If you feel this should be brought up in that group please feel free to pass this on.

Thank you so much! I had the very same problem and also had the "Grid" format installed. I deleted it and now I can delete.
