I found transcluding subpages a great way to avoid duplication in MediaWiki. Common documentation for more than one version of Moodle could be moved to subpages and then be integrated via transclusion.
Just an idea, though.

And Frank, nice to see your FTR links. A little suprised to see I posted in one of the threads, I had completely forgotten about this. I think I feel the same now as I did in November, or more so, now I have got some contact with real new users.

"Transcluding subpages" might sound a bit arcane but is in fact quite easy and transparent. I have set up a small demo page at User:Frank Ralf/Subpage transclusion so you can see how it works.
