Finally, after years of other people's students wandering over here, one of my own couldn't get into her classroom and sent a screen capture of Moodle.org's front page!

big grin Heh heh heh ...

Maybe 'This is NOT your school' should be written in

giant letters of fire!

... but I bet few wanderers will read and understand the message even then!

Maybe we're using the wrong approach. How about

Students who come in here FAIL!

No... how about: THIS
IS
YOUR SCHOOL! YOU MUST DEFINITELY MAKE AN ACCOUNT AND JOIN UP NOW!
Sign up immediately!
That'll stop them.

Right! Add a "Sign up HERE for your SUMMER EXTRA ASSIGNMENTS" message and you've done it.

My students would be bitterly disappointed in this Lounge.

Some evil teacher has set it so we can't use giant 18 point fonts. I'll bet blink and marquee don't work either.

Use the google chart API to create an appropriate URL (see below) and then use the image insertion tool to place the URL in the post.
http://chart.apis.google.com/chart?cht=tx&chl=\Huge\text{Not 24 point but big nonetheless - lol.}

Like so:

quadratic

from

http://chart.apis.google.com/chart?cht=tx&chl=\Huge%20x%20=%20\frac{{%20-%20b%20\pm%20\sqrt%20{b^2%20-%204ac}%20}}{{2a}}\text{%20%20%20when%20%20%20}ax^2%20%2B%20bx%20%2B%20c%20=%200

Don't you actually think they should get some positive feedback for trying to find their site though an alternative route.  Could they have got to their their own site if they had improved use of search terms.  At least they were trying to do their homework.

Indeed, Ms. Mary usually points them back to their home ground with patience and politeness.

This being the lounge, some teachers were just venting.

But, I'm glad you reminded me of this thread. It is a demonstration of why it is a bad idea to call your site "Moodle." OTOH, we call ours "bluejay," and the child still wandered over here big grin
