Hello all,
We have setup a course with 600 attendants divided in 6 Groups.
At the course configuration we forced the "Separate Groups" option. At the manual says that with this configuration, "Each group can only see their own group, others are invisible." (http://docs.moodle.org/en/Groups)
However, when student log into the system they can see all the forums, but can also participate in all of them.
So the question is: what are we doing wrong ?
Any help will be appreciated.
Best regards,
Antonio
What are you doing wrong? Possibly nothing!
You will still be able to see all activities with the separate groups mode on; you will only be bale to interact with your own group members.
If you want to hide activities from other groups then you need to look into Groupings Groupings_FAQ

Thanks Jon,
it worked perfectly !!!

I had similar problems and found another solution in the following discussion: "how to separate activities between two teachers on the same course". The settings will be inherited to the students.
