Can anyone assist please. We have developed a resource (using a wiki 1.8) for staff as part of our work e-learning program (this is for a Cancer Services department of a public hospital in Australia). The wiki now comprises over 320 pages.
Evaluation from staff is indicating they want to use the search bar to access information as it is too cumbersome trying to find information by tracking searching through the wiki. However the 'Search Wiki bar is not specific enough and hence not user friendly.
We are in the process of going to 1.9 with Nwiki and so thought this would be a great time to fix this problem.
Are there specific design strategies we need to employ to enable the search bar to work? (I am comparing the search userfriendliness of Wikipedia to ours and there is a stark difference).
