Type: Integration
Requires: Moodle 1.8 or later
Status: Contributed
Maintainer(s):

This tool provides a level of integration with Serco's proprietary MIS Facility CMIS / ePortal.

* NOTE: This block is now compatible with both Moodle v1.8 and 1.9 (Support for Moodle v1.7 is now dropped)
** NOTE: The documentation for this block is now included with the download
*** NOTE: The installation procedure for this block has changed for version 2008121500 onwards

The current features are:

1) Bulk creation of student accounts with LDAP integration as default.

4) Cron jobs for transferring student / parent accounts (+ purging leaver accounts) and synchronising groups

Features for a future release are:

1) Bulk email address creation for students (with integration into roundcube webmail)
2) Parents live view of Facility CMIS data - attendance, exam data, etc. (This has been moved to a new project, alpha versions available on request)

Hi Guy,  I'm probably being really obtuse but can't find the student_ad_export.rp file referred to in the instructions in either of the downloads.  If you have a ready made one...?   Thanks.   Greg

(and could you advise on the progress of the parents live view unit please?)

Hi,

I have downloaded this module and configured everything as per the instructions that come with it.

I have just installed the main files, but I have a problem. I am running moodle 1.9 and when I got to the 'Add block', 'Facility to Moodle' isn't listed.

The install had no reported errors when setting up the tables.

Any advise would be much apprechiated.

Cheers.

The parental access module (MIS block) is available on request.
We will be shipping it as part of the entire package soon.

Alan Hardy of Frederick Gent School Derby is a co-author on the parental access module.

Hey,

We've got this installed, working really well for students, and teaching groups

However we cannot import staff, how to the user tie from Ldap to moodle?

Do you need to be used ldap authentication on facility? Or is there something else

Were currently getting the Error: could not match ldapusername with facility staff record.

Cheers,
Mark

ps could we try out the parental access module

Mark,

As far as I know, the f2m block uses a staff member's username from LDAP results and ties it up with the lecturerid field in the Facility DB.

At my school a staff member's login is just their forename and their lecturerid in Facility is a code (i.e. AHI) so this default didn't work in our case. You can modify this behaviour by adding the following to the f2m config file:

$ftm_cfg->staffLDAPMatchField='';

In our case the field I matched was 'description'. Unfortunately, this meant we had to add the staff codes to the description fields in AD. HTH.

Dean.

Cheers Dean, had a couple of problems before realising the field name is case sensitive! All working now! We've using the company field, keeps it out the way!

Has any one tryied upgrading to Moodle 1.9.8 and using this block, we put it on our test server, and this block got upset, looking in the mysql table, it was putting users in with a mnethostid of 1, which in 1.9.8 is remote user whereas in 1.9.7 is normal user

Cheers,

Mark
