Activities

What type of activities will I participate in?

Most of our research studies take place remotely, so you can join from the comfort of your own computer.

Designing with us

Our workshops involve activities like ideation, card-sorting, prioritisation, and brainstormings.

Taking surveys

We'll email you surveys from time to time. Surveys help us learn more about the people who use Moodle, and about the needs and goals of educators and learners.

Talking to our UX team

During a user interview, you'll have a video call with one of our UX researchers or designers. We'll chat about your experiences with Moodle and about how you approach day-to-day tasks and goals.

Testing new designs and ideas

In usability tests, you'll help us test new features and designs on our products or websites. We'll ask you to complete some short tasks while sharing your thoughts and impressions out loud.

Frequently asked questions

01

This depends on the work we have underway throughout the year. On average, we’ll send you invites to participate in a few studies every 3 weeks. Of course, participation in each of the studies is voluntary.

02

Our research studies take between 15 minutes and 1 hour to complete, depending on the activity. Since most of our studies are remote and we’re a global team, we’re able to cover many time zones and accommodate your availability. We’ll send you all details of a study before you agree to participate.

03

Every time you participate in one of our studies, you’ll get an entry to a monthly draw for a $75 USD voucher. Read more in our Terms and conditions.

04

Not at all! We want Moodle to work for everyone, so we do research activities with both Moodle users and people who have never heard of Moodle before.

05

We’re looking for a diverse group of people to help us shape the future of Moodle. From highly experienced educators, to students, to people who have never heard of Moodle before. Everyone brings a different and valuable perspective, and we learn from them all!

06

Absolutely! Most of our research activities are remote and you’ll be able to participate from wherever you are. All our studies will be conducted in English.

07

No, you need to be 18 years or older to participate in the Moodle Experience Lab.

08

Yes, you can opt out by clicking the “opt out” link on any of the Experience Lab emails inviting you to participate in a study.

09

We’ll use your information only to choose the research studies that are a good fit for you, and we’ll only contact you about things related to the Moodle Experience Lab. You can read our Privacy Policy if you’d like all the details.
