Matrix for instant messaging
Getting started

Download Element for your operating system.

On the Sign In screen, set the Homeserver to matrix.org.

Choose a Matrix username and password. For the username, use the format @username:matrix.org. Third party authentication using Github, Google, Gitlab, Facebook, or Apple is also available.
Join the Moodle Matrix Community
To join the Moodle Matrix Community chat groups, you need to click the link Moodle Community space to get access to the space.
Click on the link in your browser that is running Element. You will see a button marked "Continue." Click the button to continue joining the room.
After clicking continue, you will be given the choice to open a Matrix client, download a Matrix client, or join the room in your browser. If you have a client installed on your machine, allow the application to be opened by the join request. If you want to download a client, click on "Download." If you just want to join in your browser, click on "Continue in your browser."
Click on the "Join" button to join the space.
Once you have clicked the "Join" button, you will see the list of Moodle Matrix chat rooms. Note that the first time you enter the space, it may take some time to display all the different groups.
