Overall, it looks very nice. To be fair, though, this IS the Newbury College theme with a few cosmetic changes, right?

A couple of thoughts from your screenshot:

- you are floating the command links in the sideblocks for some reason. This is somewhat awkward and I wonder why you've chosen to do it?

- you appear to have an background image associated with the sideblock footer. Do you have a height value set on that as well? See the "Upcoming Events" block to reference what I mean.

- it's not generally a good idea to offer a core code hack (sideblocks in center column) as a theme "feature" since the hack will not be as easily implemented as just installing the theme. I encourage you to share the hack, but just not as a feature of your theme.

I look forward to testing this on a live site.
Seriously, though, we'll need more information than what you've provided to troubleshoot your problem.

For example:

- what theme are you using?
- what Moodle version are you running?

What typically works best is to provide a link to a live site where the problem can be experienced first hand.
Your tone in this post and the one above is quite rude considering that I'm offering help to you for no other reason than to be helpful. I have no idea what your personal experience with code is, and I don't care. I will help you regardless of your background.

However, when you ask such basic questions as "How do I add a background image to an input element?" I assume that you're a novice. My mistake, I suppose.

When using CSS, there is no defined set of rules that you must "find" in order to code a certain element on the page. For this reason, and since the Moodle code is so expansive, there is no way to highlight this specific info that you're looking for. There are simply too many possible combinations to highlight them all.

So, there is nothing in the CSS that refers to #site-index .loginform .form-input? So what? Use firebug to determine the structure of the page that you want to edit, and make one up.
