Hi Ken! Obviously I am no longer with HQ but it might be helpful to Eduard if you can clarify what timezone your timestamps are in, that you mentioned in your reply.

Hello Amy and thanks for your very encouraging post.
@Petr I expect the details will have to be kept private (just as with the existing spam detection/deletion plugin) so as not to give away Moodle's secrets to spammers
But I hope it is done via account creation and not connected to the forums since there is comment spam in the Plugins directory and also sometimes private messaging spam - so not just spam forum posts.
I'm curious (although I appreciate we can't know the details) how the system will identify spammers who are not so obvious - for example those with realistic looking emails who post genuine looking posts (sometimes copied/pasted from posts from years back) or chatgpt generated - and then put a spam link in a single letter or even punctuation mark in the post - very crafty!!
I agree with Alex, which is why I recommended before I retired that the support team members make a habit of manually logging into Moodle.org at regular intervals during the day and checking for spam so it can be deleted before it even goes out. (There is a quick way for team members to check at a glance, as shown in the internal course.)
There is a cruel pleasure in being able to delete a spammer a few minutes after they posted and before community members even realise it happened😆

I would have filled it in, but my main area of education or academic training (humanities/languages) wasn't available, nor was "retired" an option in terms of employment status.
