Yes thanks Matt - I also found it very useful and interesting, although I did wonder about any differing cultural backgrounds of the students and any effect that might have - then I read in the limitations that the participants were college students from a single university. It would indeed be interesting to do the study again with a variety of institutions in variety of cultures.

(Quick answer to just one of your points) I suspect you can't change the Require students to click the Submit button because someone/some people have already submitted.

I see you have "Automatically until pass" set which may be confusing the situation since you say there is no pass grade? The completion condition is just to make a submission?  In 4.5 they introduced the middle one - Automatically - which might be better for your situation.
