HI, Tim,
But they are, for example, able to post to forums in other groups.
That is not how it is supposed to work, is it?

Moodle in English -> General help -> Joe Blow and Jane Doe
por Art Lader -
Hmmm... I know that I am doing some simple thing wrong and I feel like a total newbie (not that that's a bad thing!) but am stymied.
I have a course (Moodle version 1.5.3) in which separate groups mode is forced. Joe Blow belongs to one group and Jane Doe belongs to another. But Joe and Jane both seem to be able to use all forums, wikis and other resources in the course.
It's as if there were no groups at all.
What am I missing here? Is there some setting I have forgotten?
Thanks,
Art

...when I participate in discussions in other communities I find the other
forums as very clumsy and inappropriate tools in comparison to the
Moodle forums. I'm a bit spoiled.
Me, too! I love the way Moodle so often just works. You can forget about the software and focus on the interactions.

I'm writing all of this in a very short prep time that just ran out, so I hope it makes sense.
It made perfect sense to me.

My two cents: I very much like the blog this and discuss this blog ideas. Nice, tight, seamless integration with the forums will be key.
