Wow, Paula, so many ideas here. And I like them all.

You know what, Paula? Your use of the phrase "anticipatory set" got me thinking about Madeline Hunter's "Program for Effective Teaching (PET)" lesson plan model:


PET was very popular in South Carolina fifteen or twenty years ago. I don't here much about it any more. Not sure why.

Do you think the PET model could be useful in designing a course in Moodle?

Yes, of course. You are certainly right about that, John. I teach German, but I am not a native speaker, so I sometimes do get a little insecure about sharing my stuff. But I keep hearing that we should not let the perfect be the enemy of the good. I am going to try to take that to heart a little more this year and you will be one of my role-models. (I'll bet your courses are a lot better than just good, though!)
