Hi David,

It really is very easy to import Hot Potatoes questions into Quiz... once you've got used to the Quiz interface - not as user friendly as Hot Pot but thousands of teachers manage. zwinkernd

Here's a link to a step-by-step tutorial, only problem, it's in French! große Augen

Creer un test Moodle a partir de Hot Potatoes JQuiz.pdf (But maybe someone else knows of one in English.)

Written French is quite transparent for an English speaker. You just need to know "Quiz" is called "Test" in French and "Trier par date" means "Sort by date".

You have to import the jqz files not the htm files.

There are some types of Hot Potatoes you can't import: JCross, for example, but I imagine you wouldn't use it in an exam.

Cheers,

Glenys

Hi David,

You could also do this by removing the popup feedback box entirely. Martin Holmes showed me how to do this some years ago: see the screenshot below.

Have you thought about importing your Hot Potatoes questions into Quiz which is better designed for testing than Hot Potatoes?

Cheers,

Glenys

Hi Gavin,

I find the title of your post (and your  blog entry) somewhat misleading. I at first understood "common issues" to mean "frequent in all the contributed plugins". Those who actually read your post will see that you know that "for the most part there any (sic) no problems as people generally follow the Moodle development coding guidelines".

If I were a serious maintainer of a Moodle plugin I might be a little upset. zwinkernd

Joseph Rézeau and Gordon Bateson, who are exemplary maintainers, haven't expressed the slightest irritation. Maybe I'm over sensitive on their behalf? in Gedanken

Hi Jasmine,

Is there a reason you're using Moodle 1.1.1? It's a very old version. I suggest you update to the latest version of Moodle 1 which is 1.9.14 or, better as you're new to Moodle, start with 2.1.2. You'll find both at Standard Moodle Packages.

Come back and ask if you still  have problems.

Cheers,

Glenys
