Hi Jacqueline,

As far as I know, the only way you can go back in time is if the teacher or the admin have made and stored frequent backups. As a teacher, I do this every week or before I make significant changes. Then I can always restore the backup either on my local computer or on a copy on the online server. (I'm also a course creator in my category so I can do this.)

As for groups, I learnt the hard way not to delete them too. Now, I put the students in Groups Red, Yellow, Blue and Green for Task One, and East, West, North, South for Task Two, and so on.

If there's another way of avoiding the problem, I'd like to know too.

"Groups within Groups" exist - you have to get your Admin to turn "Groupings" on and explore what it says in the Docs.

Cheers,

Glenys

Hi Sindiyah,

I went and had a look at your site but as far as I could see without logging on, it all seemed fine. Looked very nice. gülüyor

What exactly is the problem?

Cheers,

Glenys

PS: Do you save the course regularly and restore it locally just in case something bad does happen to the online version?

Hi Robert,

Sorry, I hadn't realised that if you're not a member of the HotPotatoes Yahoo group you can't access the file. I've now put it somewhere anybody can access it: 2011-09-20-TexToys-modified-source-files.zip

Let me know if you still have a problem.

Cheers

Moodle in English -> Hotpot (plugin) -> TexToys modified files

yazan Glenys Hanson -

Hi Robert,

Here's what I posted about my modified source files, 2011-09-20-TexToys-modified-source-files.zipon the Yahoo group. Each set of modified files is accompanied by a Word document which lists (most of) the changes.

Both TexToys
boxup = the feedback box is raised so that it is less likely to cover the text
window_close = when the exercise appears in a pop box, a "Close window" button is provided. (This is not relevant in most situations but won't stop the exercise working normally.)

WebRhubarb
dictation
= no freebies (each instance of a word has to be typed in)
reading_text = a reading text field is added (similar to those in Hot Potatoes)
punct = students are not penalised for typing punctuation characters
text_recon_classic = you get the the freebies
subtitle_field = moves the contents of the subtitle field to the "reading text" position
vowels = all the vowels are removed but the consonants remain

WebSequitur
new_score
= Scoring anomaly in QuizPort corrected by Gordon Bateson, see WebSequitur - Scoring anomaly
wide-reading-text = the "reading text" is wide enough to contain a big picture or video

In several of the modified WebRhubarbs, the text field has been made resizeable so that it's possible to easily enter more words at a time.

Thanks again to Martin Holmes, Patrick Verguet and Gordon Bateson for providing me with the code to make all these changes.

Don't hesitate to contact me if you need help.

Here's an example with a "reading text" on the left, a resizeable text field, the feedback box moved up and the vowels removed: Skateboarding.

Cheers,

Glenys

PS: TexToys is not free but it is very cheap: € 23.
