Hello,

I don't know if this is relevant, but I've made a lot of JMix and JCross exercises which work fine in Moodle 1.6.4+

JMix
http://moodle.univ-fcomte.fr/mod/hotpot/view.php?id=11909
Enrolment key: Rennes

JCross
http://moodle.univ-fcomte.fr/mod/hotpot/view.php?id=16853
Enrolment key: exos (but it may not work because even though I've allowed visitors, it's a meta course and somehow refuses visitors of its own volition).

Cheers,
Glenys

Moodle in English -> Hotpot (plugin) -> JQuiz in Firefox problem -> Re: JQuiz in Firefox problem

Hi again Gordon,
I'll do this, too, tomorrow from a fast connection.

A completely different kind of problem.

Since this morning, I can no longer directly access the Hotpot module. I get an error message "Sorry, but you need to be part of a group to see this forum."

I've been able to write here only because I can click on the link in your message in my mailer.

Am I the only one to have this problem?

Moodle org seems to have been doing maintenance recently and that the interface has slightly changed. Could it be related?

Cheers,
Glenys

Dear Henny,

My JQuiz short answer exercises work normally in Moodle as far as scoring goes.
I'm afraid I've no idea why yours don't.

Hope Gordon can help you.

All the best,
Glenys
Hi Gordon,

Sorry you couldn't access the course. I hadn't realised that a "meta course" wasn't open to the public even though I'd set it to be open to guests with the key.

I'll try out changing the relative URLs to absolute URLs tomorrow on a fast connection.

Cheers,
Glenys

Moodle in English -> Hotpot (plugin) -> Video player not working on Moodle

από Glenys Hanson -
Hello Gordon,

Sorry to be giving you so many problems but here's another one:

Thanks to Stan Bogdanov I've been successful in converting mp4 vidoes to Flash using MediaCoder 0.5.1. to go from mp4 to avi and then from avi to flv using Riva FLV encoder 2.0 with very little loss of either video or audio quality. There's an example here: Alexis Lechine Wines. However it doesn't work on Moodle. That is, the HP exercise works, but there is no video player. See here: Alexis Lechine Wines. Password: exosm
I could send you a zip file explaining exactly how I did it: including screen shots, modified source code, the flvplayer.swf, etc. if it's helpful (it's too big to attach here).

The markup validates. I used HP 6.2.0.6. I’m on Windows XP (NT 5.1 Build 2600 Service Pack 2) The problem is the same in Firefox 2 and in IE7.

It seems to me someone else had a similar problem recently and you suggested changing relative to absolute links but I haven't been able to find your message and I don't know where to go to make these changes.

All the best,
Glenys
