Moodle in English -> Lounge -> Textbooks -> Re: Textbooks

- Glenys Hanson の投稿

Hi Grace,

The book Using Moodle is free to download in PDF format. It concerns version 1.8 but most things haven't changed.

For Moodle 2 there is Mary Cooch's Moodle 2 First Look - in fact I'd recommend any of Mary's books and UsingMoodle video tutorials.

For specific questions, I usually do a Google search which gets me to a relevant forum discussion or the Moodle docs.

Moodle in English -> Glossary -> Colon after concept in Simple dictionary format

- Glenys Hanson の投稿

Hi everyone,

Is there a reason for the colon after the the concept in Simple, dictionary style format? It doesn't seem logical  to me and there isn't one in, for example, the Full with author format.

The colon is fairly logical in the Continuous without author format. Has as the Simple, dictionary style format somehow got confused with the Continuous without author format?

Or is there a reason I haven't realised?

Cheers,

Glenys

Yes, Tim, I know about the demo site, but I don't know how work with a group of teachers and/or admins there. As I've understood it, that's Mark's problem: how can a group of teachers collaboratively manage their files in Moodle 2?

Cheers,

Glenys

Hi Mark and Tim,

I admit I'm a lone teacher and I haven't tried out Moodle 2 for real, but I love challenges.

Couldn't you, Mark, set up a Moodle 2 test site and invite a bunch of us in to test what you want to do that is, as I understand it, a group of teachers using collectively multiple resources?

Cheers,

Glenys

Hi Aaron,

There is a workaround for html files.

In a Section of a course that is not visible to students, instead of uploading a file to Moodle, recreate it on Moodle - just copy and paste - into a Page.

Then link to it from other courses.

This is what I've done here:

Make your course look more like a regular homepage - which explains in detail the "invisible section" technique.

When you edit the Page, all the links to it will show the modifications.

Cheers,

Glenys
