Hi Peter,

I do agree that understanding the nature (and use) of the 3 questionnaire types available can be confusing. When I used to maintain the Questionnaire plugin, a few years ago, I spent a lot of time writing (and re-writing) the documentation. I did my best but there may be room for improvement in the description available here: https://docs.moodle.org/39/en/Setting_up_a_questionnaire#Questionnaire_Type

Sorry, I was not clear enough. There are various "settings" places for a quiz, this can be confusing. Here we go again:
  1. In your Moodle course, click on the name of a quiz;
  2. In the top right corner, click on the "cogwheel" to open the Actions menu
  3. The filters link appears near the bottom

That's for Moodle 3.9 latest with the default theme. It may look different on your own Moodle site...

Hi Gary,
To disable glossary autolinking inside a single quiz go to: Quiz settings -> Filters -> Set Glossary auto-linking to Off.
You can edit filters for a whole course or individual activities but I don't think it's possible to edit filters for a group of quizzes or all quizzes or indeed a group of any other activity inside a Moodle course.
