I often need to study the logs of my Moodle courses. Because I do not have admin rights on my university server I do not have direct access to the msql database. So I make a complete backup of the course I want to study (including the logs, of course) and restor this course on my local installation of Moodle (on a standalone computer). On this local install I have of course all the admin rights and I can browse the mySql database, make SQL queries, etc.

What I don't understand in your message is this:

When you say that you tried to backup the logs etc. I suppose you mean you tried to backup that particular course, including the logs? And then you restored it to your local computer? Have you asked the moodle site admin why you were not able to save the totality of the logs?

Hello Erik,
The tool you really need for fill-in-the-blank questions is the Cloze question type, which you will find in the Quiz module. At the moment there is no equivalent in the Lesson module.

I'm afraid you will find blackboard/webct/etc. to Moodle converters on the Moodle forums, and (possibly) Moodle to Blackboard converters on the Backboard forums...

Asking for a Moodle to BB converter on the Moodle forums sounds to me as strange an idea as for a Catholic asking a priest advice on how to convert to Judaism (or for a Jew asking a rabbin advice on how to convert to Catholicism).
