Questions can only be embedded from course question banks, and they
can only be embedded if they have an 'idnumber' set, and are in
a cateogry with an 'idnumber'.

This is probably linked to a similar post here: Cannot import questions to question bank (ERROR 500)
and is caused by an outdated PHP instruction. Unfortunately the plugin author, our friend Jean-Michel Vedrine has retired and stopped development and maintenance of his Moodle plugins.
