I have a feeling that if someone posts a message then deletes it, it still appears in mail postings/digest. Anyway others will know better.

Have you tried the different options for the forum in the forum settings? They might give you what you want.

You make some very interesting points Nagarajan. It has also occurred to me that the different services that Moodle partners offer are more or less territorial. Hosting could be anywhere I guess but consultancy and training might be better done locally, in some cases.

I filed a bug MDLSITE-58 as I have the same as your first error.
