I'm sympathetic - a full site backup can be quite tricky to set up. You haven't said what your hosting is but there are various "backup to the cloud" products available and most hosting comes with some sort of backup option. You need to be backing up your databases and the Moodle files area as a minimum.

It probably all costs money - but so does losing your site.

Firstly, Moodle isn't Wordpress. It's a whole different "ball game". As an admin, I still wouldn't trust the built in Wordpress backup and would backup the system elements separately. Even the Wordpress thing... you still need to understand how to set up sending the backups off site somewhere, otherwise there isn't much point.

You can use the built in automatic course backups but it's still not the same thing. You're not backing up your site configuration and would have a load more work to do if the server crashed completely.

I'm back to "you need some basic server administration skills to administer a server application". I say this a lot. None of this is "rocket science". If I can do it, you can do it.

Moodle in English -> Wiki -> Data too long for column 'sectionname'

Moodle 4.1.4

We're getting this on an individual student's wiki page...

...clearly the issue is that the chunk of text that Moodle is trying to insert into the 'section' field is too long. But what I can't work out is where that chunk of text came from. I have to idea what a 'section' is (can't find any reference to it)?

Does anybody have a theory on what's gone wrong?
