Helpful reply, Petr...

Do you contribute to the documentation? I don't know, you probably do. But most of us (I suspect) don't have the additional time to invest in the current process. I now make a load of notes for myself where I would have added them to the wiki before. There's little benefit to me to get involved in the documentation effort. Which is why I'd like to see some developer notes option (with suitable caveats) which might help everybody.

Anyway, I anticipate that you're currently working on fleshing out the Backup and Restore documentation wink

I’m currently working on backup and restore for a really complex local plugin - nearly three years full time complex. Backup for local plugins is largely undocumented. In the “good old days” I would have happily updated the developer wiki with my discoveries. If only to help myself. Now, sadly, I cannot.

The developer docs can no longer be edited by mere mortals, such as myself. Please don’t tell me they can. I’m aware there is some complex process but I don’t care. I’m never doing that. What I want is the old wiki.

Please, please reconsider this crazy decision. Or, as a compromise, find some way of adding developer “notes” to the official pages. Possibly, something like PHP does.
