However, my point is that if any analytics system can reach a password-protected page inside Moodle then - I'm sure you'll agree - Moodle has a very serious security issue to deal with.

So, to spell it out as I possibly should have done in the first place, in my opinion your concern is entirely unfounded as Matomo will not be able to reach that page.
