Hi all, as a new developer I'm thinking of installing two version (1.5.3 and 1.6 beta) of Moodle on my local hard drive for testing purposes. So I'm downloading the Windows Package (MoodleWindowsInstaller-latest-15.zip and MoodleWindowsInstaller-latest.zip) from http://download.moodle.org/. However, in order for me to run these two versions of moodle (not at the same time), I guess before I run the setup_xampp.bat for installation, I probably have to change the moodle\config.php to use $CFG->dbname = 'moodle160'; and 'moodle152', is this correct? How about install.php?? Do I need to change the db names over there too? Is there anything else that I need to change so that two copies/versions of Moodle could co-exist on the same PC (running Windows XP)?? Other related questions:
1. What if I want to run TWO versions of Moodle (using different ports) at the same time, what other files should I change so that these two versions will use different name for their databases and different port numbers??
2. It seems that in order to run the chat module with the daemon option, I need to have UNIX shell access, is there any way that I could get chat module to run with daemon option on Windows XP platform??
3. Usually how do I install a block that I downloaded from the contrib? Thanks!
