That only handles fonts, but for whole site, I think its CDN or Google Page Speed effecting the theme, as I have 3 sites on 2.6 and two of them on Google Page Speed website optimizer, they were showing similar problem(s), and the one on Cloudflare CDN is working perfectly. I haven't tested pulling off sites from Google Page Speed, but did installed them from scratch (Fresh Install) just to see if there is issue with upgrade, but same problem existed, I have essentially given up Moodle 2.6 on Production sites and reverted back to Moodle 2.5 as it works flawless, may be in couple of month's time when things get A-OK with Moodle 2.6 I will upgrade else a test server is always ready.

Are you using any kind of CDN or website optimizer service? like Google Pagespeed?
Moodle in English -> Installing and upgrading help -> Upgrading to Main/Sub versions
I am having bit of issue, in upgrading.
When I upgrade to sub versions (Like Upgrading from 2.5.1 to 2.5.x), its understood to put the site in maintenance mood meanwhile upgrade is being done in background, when accessed from different browser meanwhile upgrade, it doesnt allow anyone other than admins to get in and shows maintenance message - that is understood.
Now, the problem is doing a major upgrade (like from 2.5 to 2.6), I had tried putting site in maintenance mood, but it still shows upgrade options to ANYONE going to the site (accessed from different browser), as when I tried going to the site meanwhile it was being upgraded to major release, it showed upgrade options, like I am logged in as admin.
anyway I can circumvent this issue? putting something in .htaccess file to redirect incoming traffic to a temp page? As i tried using a different folder to do the upgrade (from 2.5 to 2.6) and renaming that folder to main site again, but it didnt worked out saying that moodle can only be accessed using site URL (something like that).
if your content is mainly video, then why not consider streaming server such as Vimeo? it will get rid of bandwidth constraints as well you will get CDN already implemented.
Mart, though you have edited the code, but every time you upgrade Essential, you have to manually do the code change to prevent this navigation block showing up.
What Julian essentially said, by turning it OFF, log-in to site as admin, click Turn Editing ON, and then you have to manually point to URL to get to that page, like (www.mymoodle.com/login/index.php) and you will see EDIT icons appeared on Navigation Block, simply turn block off using that and it wont show up again no matter you upgrade essential.
