Hi Paul,
See http://moodle.org/mod/forum/discuss.php?d=149803 about the custom menu we have now in Moodle 2.
The 'regions' are defined by the current theme. Moodle itself has no limitation. Over time you should see a lot more themes with center regions and top and bottom regions.
Does anyone else prefer "Positions" over "Regions" in the GUI?

This is incorrect ... Moodle 2.0 should upgrade fine from 1.9 and later (and generally does).
If not, then it's either
- corrupted or modified database tables (upgrade should at least inform you of this)
- a bug in the upgrade logic (must be fixed)
Thanks for everyone's help in testing. Please give us as much info as you can with these things. If possible, we would even like access to the test site or a dump of the data so we can try it locally (You can communicate with me privately via support@moodle.com).

Does someone want to take on MDL-22733 as a challenge?
It would mean that the auto-embedded videos from Youtube (like the one below) would work on iPads and all other platforms supporting HTML5-style video without using Flash, yet fall back to Flash where required. Extra points for solving the same issue for uploaded videos.
This a clue but not the whole story:

Hub docs are here: http://docs.moodle.org/en/Hub_administration (still under construction)
Well, there's the filesystem repository:
http://docs.moodle.org/en/admin/repository/filesystem
You can FTP files to a folder (or mount SMB shares etc) and then access them from within Moodle when you want to deploy them somewhere.
