Everybody can assume that thread/discussion subscription is going to be possible soon.

Likewise, these forums are not the place to discuss individual feature requests and bugs: the Moodle Tracker is clearly the best place for that.

Contrib plugin discussions should probably be attached to each Moodle plugins page.

Personally I think we can do with much fewer forums if these are assumed, which would vastly simplify moodle.org in general and make it much more friendly as a place for community support and general brainstorming.

At the time I wrote the parent post to this, 2.3 seemed a long way off!  Now it's nearly here, but a solution to replace Mnet has not been fully decided, let alone implemented.   As such, nothing will be removed or changed and small bugs will continue being fixed in Mnet support for a while yet.

However, Dan Poltawski, who joined Moodle HQ in Perth today (yay!!) does have this as one of his first tasks.  He'll be coming up with some suggestions for Oauth2 implementations for Moodle and new web services to allow great integrations with Mahara.   Then we'll be putting those to the Mahara community and hopefully working with them to come up with a good joint plan going forward so that Moodle and Mahara can work well together.

Hi Paul,

Just noting that you should be using the standard existing web service API (these are protocol-independent) for login and getting users etc (in 2.2), and that the new assignment module work (MDL-26997, targeted for 2.3) should be able to include everything else you need.  You and Damyon can hopefully work together to make sure the new assignment provides all Lightwork needs out of the box (we will also use the same web services for the mobile clients).
