OK, sorry I've not been joining in here lately, I'm catching up again.

My conclusion from what I've read in this discussion is that the whole Amazon stars idea is too flaky after all (poor OS and browser support for Unicode), and the 7-point scale is too confusing. Is that a fair summary?

I still really want to keep some ratings for:

- identifying posts that are helpful, so that they can be input into some process of turning them into docs or auto-suggestions, whatever
- identifying particularly helpful Moodlers

So can I suggest that we convert everything here to a 1-point scale? Basically something can be rated "Helpful" or "Neutral". We could convert all positive ratings in all the existing scales to "Helpful", and lose the rest. This would hopefully remove the problems while still giving us some useful data. We would lose some historical data but, c'est la vie.

I tried some experiments on this back in May in a hidden forum here: http://moodle.org/mod/forum/view.php?id=7186

What do you think? (You can post in that forum if you like but it's a temporary forum and will be deleted at some point).

About your last question: Jordi Piguillem is the main person working on the LTI stuff with Chuck. Jordi works with Ludo in Barcelona, and Ludo is now officially keeping on top of IMS LTI for Moodle.

I don't know if this is what Bb refer to. My guess is more that it's more just about accessing files uploaded into Moodle, perhaps something like our Repository API.

We're still going (thanks to the small core group who are helping blinker). I'll be wrapping up the releases and tagging the WEEKLY versions sometime tomorrow morning my time, around 3:00 GMT.
